Viva Las Vegas!!

We went to Las Vegas over the weekend for a nice weekend getaway. We left the kids with Grandparents (Thank you Mom and Vickie). I think the kids had a ball, but I couldn't believe how much I missed them. I have never been away from them both over night. I kept seeing cute little kids Kinlee and Dallins age and it made me miss them so much. I think I called them three times a day. Even though I missed them it was still nice to have a break and we had such a great time. Here are a few of the highlights.
This was my first time on a an airplane. Can you believe it? Crazy huh? It did give me a little motion sickness, but I really enjoyed it. Hopefully this will one flight of many.

The highlight of the trip for me had to be the Phantom of the Opera. We went to the show at the beautiful Venetian Hotel. It was amazing!! I think my jaw was dropped the whole time. I couldn't believe all the props and special effects they had, not to mention the orchestra and all the amazing actors. It was fabulous!!

This is one of those pictures where you lean back and hope you point the camera at your faces. There are some pretty interesting characters in Vegas. It was hard to find someone we could trust to take our pictures and not worry they would run off with our camera. So I took this picture of us together in front of the MGM Grand. Cheese!

This is Marc in front of the fountains at the Bellagio. It is so beautiful. They choreograph the water to music. It was really fun to watch.

We stayed at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. It was pretty nice. Marc was excited because they upgraded our room to include a big flat screen TV. I thought Kinlee would like the pictures because it looked like we stayed in a castle.

This is a picture of the strip at night. This was at like 11:30 at night, and it was still as busy as ever. It is crazy. My body shuts down at 11:00

We took this picture at a Mexican restaurant called Diego. It was in the MGM Grand. It was the best Mexican food ever. We stuffed ourselves.....again. (the food in Vegas is amazing)

All in all it was such a fun trip, but we are so glad to be home. (Even though we came home to sick kids. They are both running fevers, puke, and Kinlee has an ear infection. Welcome back to reality huh?) I think Marc was most excited to have a nice FREE glass of water. We were so sick of paying for water, it was like two dollars a bottle or more, and Vegas tap water is so gross!!

U-Unknown Fact about me-When I was little I watched this movie (it was a Star Trek movie actually) and it had these big ugly bugs that would crawl into peoples ears and control their brain or something like that. Anyway, it creeped me out so bad that I started sleeping with my ears covered. I am not still afraid of brain controlling bugs, but I have to sleep with my ears covered out of habit. Weird huh?

Workout music

We got an eliptical a few months ago, and I have been working hard trying to get ready for summer. I love to listen to music when I exercise, it helps me get pumped. I compiled a list of workout songs that I have been listening to. One of my favorites (you basketball friends will appreciate this song) is "Another one bites the dust" by Queen. I substitute pound for one. You know "Another POUND bites the dust." Anyway I am getting sick of all my songs. I need a few new songs to help me stay motivated. Any ideas?

It's a bird, it's a plane,.......It's a KITE!!

We took advantage of the semi-nice weather and decided to go fly kites at the park.
I learned something new on our kite flying outing. Marc is a master kite flyer. I was running around the park like a crazy person trying to get our poor Elmo kite to fly, then I let Marc have a turn, and up the kite went. He was amazing. I'll just add kite flying to the list of Marc's many talents. Love you Hun!!!

Dal was quite the kite flyer too. He must take after his old man.

Kinlee did pretty good at first, but kept getting distracted by the swings and toys at the park. I think she gets her short attention span from me.

Can you say mini Marc? I can't believe how much these two look alike. Dal is one lucky boy! Our kite flying soon ended when I got our kite stuck in a tree. Whoops!!! Marc was our hero and was able to get it out in one piece.

Then we played on the toys in the park. I'm not sure this little fire truck was built for adults.

Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!! This picture was taken while we were spinning. I'm surprised I am smiling in the picture. Merry go rounds always make me queesy. The things we do for our kids right.

Princess Mckinlee

Went to the Paul Mitchell beauty college this weekend for the Princess and Pirate day. (Thanks for telling us about it Amber!) Kinlee was in heaven. She was so good and had such a fun time.

Here she is getting her nails done. She got to pick the nail color she wanted. She picked hot pink of course! She loved the pink ring they gave her. She has worn it every day since.

Then she got her makeup done. They did eyeshadow, blush, and lip gloss. The girl kept trying to get her to close her eyes to put on the eyeshadow, but she just kept squinting.

Next, they did her hair. She sat so still. I couldn't believe it. She never sits still when I do her hair. They curled her hair and then pinned it up with bobby pins. It was so cute!

Then came the princess crown of course....and here you have the finished product! What a little princess.

This was Kinlee's very favorite part. She loved all the girls dressed like princesses. She was so excited when she saw them. Especially the girl dressed like Cinderella. (i didn't get a picture of her) All in all it was a fun little mom and daughter outing. Next time I want to get my nails and hair done too.

Swimming

My sister in law Missy has a pool at the townhomes they live in. She was nice enough to invite us over for a swim. Thanks Mis! We had such a great time.

Kinlee was a little water bug. She loves swimming. She is fearless, we had to watch her so carefully. She really wanted to swim on her own. I Guess we'll have look into swimming lessons soon.

Dallin was a little nervous at first. He kept sticking out his lower lip like he was ready to start crying at any moment. He finally got used to it as long as I was holding him. He is such a little Mama's boy!

General Conference

It was so nice to be able to watch General Conference last weekend. There were so many great talks. President Monson is such an amazing man and has such a great sense of humor. We are so blessed. My favorite talk was Elder Ballards. Here is one of my favorite quotes from his talk:

"The biggest mistake I made as a parent is the one most of us make. I did not live in the moment enough. this is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of my three children, sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing, set on a summer day, ages 6, 4 and 1. A fun spring day

This weekend we went to the Greenbelt to feed the ducks. It is finally starting to feel more like spring!!! Woohoo!!!!

Dallin loved the ducks. He wanted to get them so bad. He kept reaching and wiggling. I think he would have dove right into the water to get them. He kept trying to say "duck", but all he could get out was "duh". It was pretty cute.

My sister Megan and her three girls and my other sister Amy came with us. This is Kinlee with her cousin Ally. Aren't they so cute? Thanks for the fun time sisters!

This is Kinlee having a little snack. She kept nibbling on the bread and then giving some to the ducks. What a funny little girl.
